Kulttuuriseteli – a sign of caring
Kulttuuriseteli is a benefit offered by the employer to enhance the well-being of staff. Kulttuuriseteli allows employees to divide their leisure time between both exercise and culture. Cultural pursuits have been proven to promote intellectual alertness and health. Culture has also been proven to lower blood pressure and the level of stress hormones.
Staff that feels well has motivation and calls in sick less. By contributing to beneficial leisure-time activities, the employer shows it cares for the well-being of staff.
Smartum Kulttuuriseteli
- a means of payment for culture and exercise services
Smartum was the first one to bring Kulttuuriseteli to the Finnish market in 2005. Contrary to expectations, it was not granted tax-exempt status at the time. The Finnish parliament ratified on 5 December 2008 tax-exempt status for Kulttuuriseteli as of the beginning of 2009. At the same time, Kulttuuriseteli became more diverse; as of 1 January 2009 Kulttuuriseteli is legal tender for both cultural and exercise services!
Please note that the exercise services offered by the Kulttuuriseteli network are as of yet more limited than those of the Liikuntaseteli network are. Look up the up-to-date status using the venue search.
Why Kulttuuriseteli?
Kulttuuriseteli encourages staff to take up cultural and exercise activities. In addition, it sends the message of caring for the well-being of the employee and promotes goodwill towards the employer. Where can it be used?
The voucher allows employees to pay for cultural activities of their liking in venues belonging to the Kulttuuriseteli network all over Finland. For whom?
Kulttuuriseteli is a benefit tailored for the personal usage of the recipient. It cannot be used to pay for cultural activities of the recipient's children or other family members.
When can it be used?
The diverse venue and service network of the Kulttuuriseteli service has something to offer also the smaller places of business of the employer as well as employee's who travel a lot on business.
